Enhancing or rejuvenating the face often involves improving the overall shape of the face or restoring lost volume from aging or weight loss. In the past, surgical implants were frequently used but now, with modern injectable fillers and stimulants, no surgery is required.

How does Sculptra® work?
Unlike other injectable products such as Juvederm™, Radiesse® or Perlane®, which produce an immediate result when injected, Sculptra® works slowly by stimulating the build up of the body's natural collagen to thicken the skin. The main ingredient of Sculptra® is poly-L-lactic acid, derived from fruit acids, and it has safely been used in surgery for more than 25 years.
The improvement from Sculptra® treatments is gradual so that no one else will notice a sudden difference but the results can last for about two years. Two to five treatments, done at least a month apart, are usually required, depending on the amount of volumizing desired. The area treated usually starts to begin filling out or plumping up about six weeks after the first session and the results continue to improve over the following months. Usually one treatment done each year will maintain the improvement seen with Sculptra®- .

The result is long lasting and looks and feels completely natural. It's an excellent choice to add volume to the cheeks, augment the chin, fill out hollow temples and even enhance the jaw line. Other body areas that can benefit from Sculptra® treatments include the backs of the hands and the décolletage.
