Injectable fillers can be used for enhancement, correction and for restoring the volume where fat and bone diminish with aging. Dr. Elliott & Corinn Ziegler, PA-C, specialize in the advanced uses of all of the major dermal fillers, including the "Liquid Facelift". Both have been chosen to train other physicians and practitioners by several of the companies that produce them, including Allergan, the makers of Juvederm & Botox Cosmetic, Medicis, the makers of Dysport & Restylane, and Suneva Medical, the makers of Artefill. Dr. Elliott is also the owner of ExpertEsthetics, a company that provides medical training to other medical professionals in both basic and advanced esthetic techniques. When it's your face, why would you trust anyone but an expert?
"I would recommend Dr. Elliott to anyone looking for dermal fillers, she did an excellent job on my face and I have had the procedure done a number of times in her office. I think Dr. Elliott is one of the nicest Drs I have had the opportunity to meet and would go back for other procedures such as botox." Mrs. Colleen Rubino

Facial Enhancement or Repair with Dermal Fillers
Fillers are also used to produce the results of cheek, chin and lip implants without scars and with the advantage of being modifiable at any time. Other body areas where fillers are frequently used are the earlobes, the hands, surgical defects and depressed scars.

Although there are reasons for choosing various types of fillers such as the difference in thickness or duration, the end result for all of them should be a natural appearing improvement.
The following is a table listing Dr. Elliott's opinions about the pros and cons of some of the different injectables. Click on any of the fillers listed above to go to the Skinspirations page for that product.

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC
(“thicker” version)
Dermal Filler
Good for most depressions & lines that aren’t at the very surface of the skin
12-18 months
Longest duration of temporary immediate fillers
Can dissolve if desired
Because it absorbs so much water, it can appear puffy in areas of thin skin
If I was on a desert island & could only have 1 filler…
I use Ultra Plus to lift my brows
Juvederm Ultra XC
(“thinner” than Ultra Plus XC)
Dermal filler
Ultra is best in fine lines such as those around the lips & in the lips when subtle volume is desired
12-18 months
Can be used in surface lines where thicker fillers cannot
Can dissolve if desired
It won't lift as much as thicker fillers if used in deeper lines
I charge the same for Ultra as Ultra Plus because the areas where I use Ultra take me more time to treat
It's in my lips & under my eyes.
Radiesse

Great for very deep lines when a lot of lift is needed or enhancing cheeks, chin, or lifting brows

Available in a size that is twice the size of Juvederm but less than twice the price
Can’t dissolve
Can look a little uneven for the first couple of days
Need to add lidocaine to syringe to decrease discomfort
It’s a good sturdy filler for a strong lift (think of a tent pole lifting a tent)
I've used Radiesse in my cheeks

I’ve used it for 5 years and have never had a problem with it
I haven't used it on myself only because I'm a commitment-phobe

Sculptra

It's important to have dermal fillers injected by an expert who has extensive experience in all of the dermal fillers available as well as an artistic eye. Many aesthetic injectors spend most of their day in surgery or taking care of medical problems but Dr. Elliott & Corinn Ziegler, PA-C, exclusively perform nonsurgical cosmetic treatments.
There are now more types of filler choices available in the U.S. than ever before and Dr. Elliott is experienced with all of them. We know how confusing it is but we can help you decide which one is best for your specific concenrs when you come in for a consultation.
Most people need multiple syringes of dermal filler to get the best results, we offer discounts up to 25% off of the single syringe price when multiple syringes are used during one visit. See our webpages for Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, Artefill & Restylane for more details about each.
